There are successful technology business leaders, and then there are the visionary leaders that deviate from the norm to make a significant and lasting impact through their professional accomplishments.
Trace3, one of NetApp’s leading North American channel partners, recognized our vice chairman, Tom Mendoza, as one of those exceptional people. On May 18, the company awarded him its Trace3 Outlier Lifetime Achievement Award.
The award was made public during the Trace3 Evolve conference, a two-day leadership and technology event focused on forward-thinking IT.
According to Trace3, recipients of this honor are those who demonstrate quantifiable impact made in the field of business, philanthropic impact, or notable progress in academia.
Specifically, Tom was recognized for his decades of dedication, innovation and wise diplomacy in information technology.
The CEO of Trace3, Tyler Beecher, commented, “On a personal level, Tom is generous with his mentorship to others, and thoughtful and precise with his wisdom.”
Tom has been a guiding force at NetApp throughout its evolution, joining the company as employee number 32 to lead Sales. He is a champion for customers and the NetApp culture, and well known for his leadership in our company’s community outreach, including fund raising efforts on behalf of the children’s cancer charity St. Baldrick’s Foundation “We became successful because of our people and culture. We created an environment where high performance people felt respected and appreciated. That culture sustained us in good and tough times,” Tom said.
Along with these accomplishments, to commemorate his impact and contribution to the world of academia, the University of Notre Dame has memorialized his name with the Mendoza College of Business.
Congratulations to Tom for receiving this recognition of his professional contributions and community involvement. Read Tom’s blog for his comments on receiving the award.
