I like beer. I also like a bunch of other stuff. It’s just that I really like beer. For anyone who has known me for even a brief amount of time, this is hardly news. Belgian Tripels, Imperial Stouts and Saisons – yummm.

 

SAP claims that about 77% of the beer consumed worldwide is powered by SAP. With customers like brewing giants Anheuser-Busch InBev and MillerCoors, I’ve no doubt about the accuracy of the estimate. SAP’s 2017 SAPPHIRE event featured a Leonardo demo with a “Smart Bar” that asked five ever-changing questions and used machine learning to recommend a cocktail, beer, glass of wine, whatever – brilliant!  I know some folks who would maximize their investment in one of these.

 

In 1328, the Augustinian monks began brewing beer in their monastery near the Cathedral of Munich. Seven centuries later, Augustiner-Bier is firmly embedded in Munich’s culture.
