Over the past few weeks, I’ve been writing about our multi-step journey regarding HCI acceleration and the path we’ve laid out for our partners to accelerate their success in the hyper converged infrastructure market.

In my first blog post, I used Newton’s first law of motion to highlight the importance of taking massive action to capitalize on this market opportunity. I outlined how partner support will unfold, beginning with building competence through education to sell, install, and manage NetApp® HCI, followed by confidence building with hands-on enablement and education. We’ll then spin up our marketing and sales efforts and start building the market.

My second blog post focused on competence, how much we value it, and outlined the comprehensive  training and education available for you to achieve it. Think of this process like learning to drive. Before getting your learner’s permit, you may have had to attend a course on the rules of the road.

In the case of NetApp HCI, we’re offering free online education and enablement in the NetApp Partner Program Resource Library. You then start “behind the wheel” training, using lab and /or demo gear, and try it out, taking the technology through its paces.  As an example, read about WWT’s experience in this blog. You continue to build on your experience and are eventually proclaimed a competent, independent driver or, in our case, a NetApp HCI expert!

You know your customers. When you understand what they want and combine it with your deep understanding of what NetApp HCI can deliver, you build their confidence in you.

In conclusion, it seems fitting to close with a reference to the 2018 Olympic athletes. They are the personification of confidence. It starts with desire.  Followed by learning the theory and technique. Then practice, practice, practice – to build the required skills.  The Unified Partner Program provides a plethora of education, enablement and other tools to get you there with NetApp HCI. Find them all here.

Look for my next blog post about how we’re helping you build pipeline in this market space.
