I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again—the value of education cannot be understated. And for education on NetApp, you can’t get any better than NetApp University. No matter what your role is—partner sales, partner presales, partner postsales, partner services, or even if you’re brand new to storage—NetAppU has you covered. With the increased adoption of new and emerging innovations like flash, cloud, and hyper converged infrastructure, educational offerings from NetAppU can help you stay up to date. NetAppU wants everyone in the NetApp ecosystem to stay engaged because if you’re not, you’re gonna be left in the dust.

Part of what makes NetAppU unique is its partner role-based training. Over the next three blogs, I’ll be focusing on different roles that NetAppU targets so that you can get the training you need for your job. For this first piece, we’re getting back to basics with NetApp partner sales training.

If you’re brand new to sales or storage, these foundational courses help you get a handle on what it is you’re selling or learning about. Maybe you’re trying to get into a new customer environment and you want to learn more about the technology fundamentals. Or maybe you were in a technical field role and all of a sudden you have to learn how to speak sales. The Sales Professional Foundational courses provide the basics on a variety of technologies like storage, cloud, flash, and hyper converged, with a crash course on everything NetApp makes and sells. As part of this targeted curriculum, NetApp has a series of courses for partners that we like to call the “ABCs” (Application, Business value, Competition). These are 15-minute, just-in-time learning nuggets covering a variety of topics that help you become more successful at selling a particular solution.

We also have a compliance program where required curriculums must be completed for each partner level. You take the NetApp Sales Professional accreditation exams online, so there’s no cost to you. If the curriculum requires a certification, this has to be taken via Pearson VUE for a fee. Pearson VUE now offers remote exams, saving you time and money on the commute to the testing center. The courses that require certification exams will be discussed in the partner presales and partner postsales blogs (stay tuned!).

Whether you’re looking to tackle small to midsized businesses or enterprises, NetAppU has the education to get you there. We also have specializations around FlexPod technology as well as ONTAP, SolidFire, and E-Series professional services certified partner programs. The more you sell NetApp solutions, the more rebates and target incentives you get. Don’t leave money on the table!

Tailored Learning

NetAppU is constantly looking at industry trends to tailor our education to meet the needs of our continuous learners. We work with a lot of application vendors, alliance partners, and industry leaders like Microsoft, Oracle, IBM, Cisco, and SAP. We also develop joint exams with Cisco for our FlexPod Solutions. If you see gaps in our training, feel free to reach out to me directly in the comments below or on Twitter.

In addition to training from NetAppU, we have authorized learning partnerships with Fast Lane and Unitek, giving you more options for getting NetApp education anywhere in the world. They also offer onsite as well and remote Virtual Instructor-Lead Training (VILT) for those who learn best in their pajamas at home. Both companies can provide vouchers for certification (If applicable), so if you pay for a course, you get the added bonus of a free certification, giving you the opportunity to apply your skills right away. These partners also augment NetAppU’s curriculum with additional courses so you can broaden your skillset and stay up to date.

And don’t forget to sign up for Insight 2018 in Vegas and Barcelona! You can take free exams while you’re there and participate in NetApp Lab On Demand (LOD) hands-on labs featuring some of the coolest tech in the industry. NetApp University also has a Certification Day event where you can proudly display the certifications you mastered with an exclusive shirt—don’t miss out on that opportunity! Be sure to add your NetApp certification digital badges to your social media accounts as well as your e-mail signature.

We all know our industry is changing faster now than ever before. There’s always something new to learn, and learning is a surefire way to make yourself more valuable to your organization and to your customers. Become a trusted advisor, accelerate sales, and drive customer success with education from NetAppU. Otherwise, the competition is gonna eat your dog food!
