This week at NetApp’s European customer and partner event, Insight Barcelona, we announced new capabilities designed to help customers in Europe access the shared file storage service for Google Cloud Platform. With the expansion of NetApp® Cloud Volumes Service for GCP into Europe even more customers will be able to deploy the jointly developed and Google supported file storage service.

The NetApp and Google Cloud partnership combines NetApp’s world-class data services with Google Cloud Platform’s global infrastructure built around regions. The service, NetApp Cloud Volumes Service for Google Cloud Platform, handles the configuring and managing of the storage infrastructure. Google Cloud Platform gives you complete control and ownership of the region in which your data is physically located, making it easy to meet regional compliance and data residency requirements. Cloud Volumes Service for Google Cloud Platform is a great fit for application owners of UNIX, Linux and Windows applications, line-of-business (LOB) owners, database administrators, and cloud architects who consume storage capacity but don’t want to be storage administrators.
