There are a few days left to go as we get ready for Las Vegas for NetApp Insight 2017! In addition to the great keynotes, breakout sessions, hands-on labs and certification opportunities, there are a few fun social activities we’ve got planned as well.

The Social Media Hub

The Social Media hub is located just inside the entry to Insight Central.  The hub will include our social media listening station which includes large display screens with the social feeds and leaderboards.  There will be a digital photo booth where you can take some fun photos with a green screen back drop that you can print out and share on your own social media networks. Also you might see the social media team handing out Starbucks gift cards to attendees spotted on the show floor wearing NetApp apparel.  Are you feeling lucky?

Meet the NetApp A-Team

The hub also features our video recording studio along with lounge seating where you can stop by, connect and chat with members of the NetApp A-Team and the NetApp social media team.  You can also meet with the A-Team during the Beer & Bacon reception on Monday night and at the Tech Elite Meet (the new name for Greet and Geek) networking event. Check here for a list of sessions which include A-Team members.

Food for All Event

Did you know that in just 30 minutes, you could build 60 meal kits for the hungry and malnourished? To celebrate our 25th anniversary, we’ve launched our first ever global volunteer campaign, Food For All Partnering with Rise Against Hunger, join us on October 2 between 12-5PM or October 3 between 10AM-3PM for meal kit packaging events as part of the campaign.

 

This is a chance to take our relationships with our customers and partners one step further by working together to not just solve business problems, but a difficult, life-changing problem like hunger. The Rise Against Hunger station is easy to find, just next to the NetApp Store on Level 2. All you need to do is walk up, sign in, and participate.

Foosball Tournament

Stop by the Social Media Hub on Wednesday, October 4 from 12PM to 2PM for our inaugural NetApp United Foosball Tourney.  You can practice and polish your skills at the tables within Insight Central leading up to the tournament.  We’ve got some great prizes lined up for our winners, along with bragging rights for next year!

Social Media Contests

We have two activities for you this week around Twitter.  The first is our #StepsChallenge.  Screen capture your daily steps from your pedometer, fitness tracker [e.g., Apple Watch, FitBit, Garmin] or smart phone app for iOS or Android during Insight in Las Vegas (October 2-5, 2017). The rules are simple:

  1. Tweet your steps image! Include the hashtags #NetAppInsight and #StepsChallenge.  Entries that do not include both hashtags will not be considered valid. Note: Only one account per individual can be used to enter the contest. You must have a valid Insight badge to participate.
  2. Each tweet is an entry in the random drawing to be held in the Social Media Hub on Thursday, October 5. You need not be present to win.

One (1) overall winner will be selected to win an Apple Watch. Two (2) additional winners will receive a Zappos Gift card to get some funky new kicks!

 

Our second contest is for the “Insight Social User of the Day.” You only need to share a social media update on Twitter, Facebook or Instagram using the #NetAppInsight hashtag to automatically be entered in this drawing.  At the end of each day, we will select a daily winner and award prizes.

Get AMP’D!

Join us at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino for the best party in Las Vegas – the NetApp Insight Attendee Appreciation Party on Wednesday, October 4.  Be sure to bring your Insight attendee badge to get into the party. Shuttles will depart from Mandalay Bay starting at 7:15 PM.

Cecelia Taylor

A lifelong Northern California resident, Cecelia has been a marketing communication professional for 20+ years. She previously held social media roles at several Silicon Valley organizations including 8x8, Mellanox Technologies and Cisco managing social media strategy and metrics. Prior to her career in social media, she worked in audience development marketing for B2B publishing. She holds a BA from Mills College in Oakland, CA. She is married with two children and likes to read, knit and crochet in her spare time.
